The

Talking Pam (& Phoenix & Faerie)

In Books, The Fae, True Blood, Web Sites/Online on 7 June, 2011 at 1:58 pm

The lovely and talented ladies over at EricNorthman.net generously invited @TB_PamR to join their Dead Air blogtalk radio show on Monday, 7 June, 2011. With the Season 4 premiere of True Blood just around the corner and the Phoenix Comic Con barely in the rearview mirror we had plenty to discuss!

The first 6 minutes of Season 4 was the first topic of business and met with mixed reactions. The consensus seems to be that Alan Ball’s vision of Faerie is radically different from the one found in the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. Even the name of Sookie’s grandfather was changed, possibly signally the most significant departure the series has taken from its novel roots even as it steals lines from it. Casting seemed to raise some questions as well, both for Earl (Gary Cole) and Hallow (Fiona Shaw).

Pam apparently picked up some tips from Kristin Bauer van Straten while she was in Phoenix. Neither is giving much away, not that the RP Pam has much to give.  It’s nice to hear about one Hollywood couple (Abri and Kristin van Straten) who are very much in love, however. It’s also nice to know that mobile devices like iPods/iPhones are allowing celebrities to turn the tables on their family members and friends. Can fans be far behind?

Dead Air: The Time is Near

Everyone seems to be looking forward to Season 4 of True Blood and, in an interesting twist, Dragon Con in Atlanta. Things are shaping up for a great gathering of truebies in September. Who else will be there?
