A Feast for Android gamers

In Games on 6 May, 2011 at 12:12 pm

Feast is a mobile game played on Android devices. Designed by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students Yuting Lian, Nick Coppola, Chris DiPastina and Paul DiPastina, it employs augmented reality, a new horizon in gaming that combines the physical world with the virtual world. The game is layered onto video captured through the phone’s on board camera.

“The way this game works, you have objects and images on a table top that when seen through your phone are transformed into the game world,” said Chang. “It’s a whole new area in games.”

Feast is among 20 or so student designed games competing for cash prizes at GameFest 2011.
